Deciding on the Best Kitchen Countertop for How You Live

Beautiful, durable countertops are the foundation for a well-loved kitchen. They add an aesthetic quality and play an integral part in many family memories. It is essential to choose the right countertops to suit your lifestyle. Today, you can learn which type is best for you.

Quartz Countertops

Quartz is a nice choice if you plan to be in your home at least 10 years. It is a manmade stone engineered with quartz crystals and a resin. Quartz is easy to clean, very durable and highly stain-resistant making it a good choice to achieve an elegant look even if you have a high traffic kitchen. Since it isn’t porous like some stones, it is much easier to keep bacteria-free. Although it often lacks color variation since it is manmade, color can be added to customize the appearance. It is considered low maintenance.

Granite Countertops

Granite is the ideal countertop for you if you value elegance and do not mind the cost. It is considered medium maintenance. Expect to wipe up any spills since it can absorb stains. Granite will not fade and has unique patterns to add color and character to your kitchen. It is considered a sanitary surface. Granite is fairly tough in resisting damage from knives and hot pans, however it’s still recommended to used cutting boards and hot pads.

Marble and Travertine Countertops

Both marble and travertine are elegant stones that are considered high maintenance since they require regular sealing and are prone to stains or damage due to hot pots. Marble maintains a cool temperature since it is unable to conduct heat. This makes it a great surface for pastry doughs if you like to bake.

Our kitchen countertops should be reflective of our lifestyle and equipped to handle what comes with the territory. Bear in mind the benefits each countertop provides when making your decision.
